If it were not so serious, it would make a fine story for a farce. Following
the March 29th elections (which were heavily rigged to try and give Zanu PF
a victory) they delayed giving the results for a month and then simply
falsified the Presidential ballot. Following the June 27th vote - Zanu PF
was claiming a victory within 24 hours, we expect the results to be released
this afternoon - 48 hours after the poll closed and the Chief Justice is
standing by to swear Robert Mugabe in as the new President!

When the MDC claimed victory on the Tuesday after the March 29th poll, based
on a parallel vote count - they were accused of "treason". One of the
charges on which Tendai Biti was arrested was just that. Now Zanu and Mugabe
do the same thing - in advance of the ZEC results and its all OK.

On the 29th March Tsvangirai won with 54 per cent of the total poll - still
not confirmed by validating the actual returns, which are held under lock
and key by the State. They struggled for a month to try and wriggle out of
that one eventually, just brushing aside the need for any validation process
and simply announced that a run off was required.

This was followed by two months of intense, nation wide, State managed and
executed violence against the MDC and its supporters. Hundreds of thousands
have fled their homes, tens of thousands have been injured - many with
serious injuries, hands and feet amputated, broken limbs, smashed hands.
Food aid to millions cancelled and what food was left was brought under
strict political control. Indoctrination centers were established in every
district in the country and tens of thousands subjected to arbitrary orders
to attend activities in these centers at which they were threatened with
further violence and injury if they "voted the wrong way". At public rallies
the regime promised a return to war if Tsvangirai won.

The MDC campaign for the run off was not allowed to even get started -
rallies were banned and when a High Court Judge ordered the police to allow
a rally in Harare, the police stood by as armed thugs from Zanu PF militia's
attacked those attempting to go to the venue. Live ammunition was used and
there was no attempt to even hide the role of the militias. The police
affected not a single arrest.

The offices of the MDC were raided on several occasions, thousands of MDC
officials were arrested and at the end of the campaign it was estimated that
2000 were still in custody - most without charge. Tsvangirai himself was not
allowed to move freely, was given no space - even for adverts - in the
dominant State controlled media and his personal safety was threatened.

Had Morgan not pulled out of the elections the violence would have
intensified. The 27 000 polling agents that had been trained for the poll
would have put their lives on the line and many would have not even got to
their polling stations. The 2 000 or more volunteers who were standing by to
supervise the poll would not have been allowed to do their job and without
polling agents and independent observers the poll would have been massively
rigged. We already knew that the armed forces had been forced to vote under
supervision and that 130 000 votes had been obtained by these means. We also
knew that hundred of thousands of false ballots were in regional army
barracks awaiting deployment to selected polling stations. Add to that the
issue of multiple voting, secret polling stations, supervised balloting in
rural areas and the whole back ground of violence and intimidation and you
get a clear picture of just what a farce this has been.

At about 16.00 hours on Sunday - less than 48 hours after the poll closed,
ZEC announced that Mugabe had won with 85 per cent of the votes cast,
Tsvangirai only got 15 per cent. What three months can do for an
administration - counting down from 30 days to less than two, 27 per cent
total votes for Mugabe to 85 per cent! As much as anything else, this is a
step too far for Mugabe - it's just not credible. The same number of ballots
were cast, 2,4 million. At our local polling station Mugabe got 24 votes,
Tsvangirai 38 with 80 spoilt ballots. Overall there were less than a third
of the total votes cast in March. By my simple mathematics - they must have
ballots stuffed at least a million votes to get this result.

Fortunately, because of the courage of a number of journalists who risked
their freedom to come into the country illegally and report on events, as
well as the courage and determination of local activists and diplomats, all
of this was well documented and reported on in the international media. The
regime here simply could not hide the facts behind the charade.

I have been away from home for a month to have a stent inserted to improve
blood circulation. I drove up to Bulawayo this morning and was shocked by
the state of the country. My staff all reported that their families had fled
their rural homes for safety in towns, a dead body was found this morning on
the side of the road just 500 metres from my home - no identity or clothes -
just dumped on the side of the road. When I left the Rand was trading at
Z$35 million to one, yesterday it was trading at Z$1,5 billion to 1. The
toll on Beitbridge was Z$5,4 billion when I went out; it was Z$100 billion
when I came back. The road was deserted and the Town of Gwanda eerily quiet
and also deserted. Only the roadblocks looked the same!

At home no salaries had been paid - what should you pay when a 10-kilogram
bag of maize meal costs Z$70 billion! Stores are empty, people angry and
hungry and virtually everybody is talking about the very real possibility of
flight to another country. I have yet to see my own staff or get into the
office - that will be on Monday. What do I tell them we are going to do? How
do we survive? What hope is there left once the mafias are back in charge in
Harare and the looting and violence carries on?

I do not think South Africa can absorb another 2 million or more Zimbabwean
refugees. I also think that the African Union must be close to deciding that
they have had enough of Mugabe's antics. The political price of ignoring his
misdemeanors is now so great that I think we can expect some sort of action
to resolve the crisis here next week. How we in the MDC will handle any
negotiations is another matter - but I am sure they are coming.

Dear Iburst Group

I must say that this is rather a unique experience I'm having with iburst. Its been what, almost three years now that I've been trying to achieve, well just anything at all with iburst, but to no avail. I actually feel like I'm part of the iburst family now but no one in the family wants to acknowledge me. Normally people become emotionally scared from circumstances such as these, but me being strong and stable can handle the rejection. My wise Grand Mother always said, "try, try and try again", although I'm sure she meant keep it within a week or maybe a month time period, not years. None the less here we are still trying after several years. She'd be proud.

Oh, now you'll be wondering, what am I trying to achieve again, because I know that my family at iburst have absolutely no idea, and why do I know this? Because they never get back to me about anything they just ignore me flat. Can you see where the emotional scaring would normally come from now? But as I said earlier, I am fine.

Here is the list of what I'm trying to achieve, come to think of it, I've been a little "doff", I should have a copy of this list on my desktop so that it is easy to copy and paste each time. Better idea, could you at iburst give me some space to post the list on your website, that way it'll be closer to home, where the family is...

1. In the beginning, and I must warn all the readers now that this has taken much longer that seven days, a fellow referred to as a reseller, came out to my house to test whether or not we would get sufficient signal and download speed from iburst. Incidentally this was about the tenth reseller I contacted but the first to eventually come back to me, and why is that you may wonder, yes you guessed it, they were all part of the iburst family.....and the iburst family doesn't do what???? "Get back to their customers".
Anyway, so the reseller & I found that with an external antenna we got between 95 and 112 kilo Bytes per second, that is 760 to 896 kilo bits per second, it wasn't close to the alleged 1 mega bit that iburst claims they have, but better than telkoms max of around 55 kilo Bytes at the time, mind you, still now for many.
So then my words to the reseller were, and these are important words, very important: "IF THESE ARE THE SPEEDS WE GET FROM iburst THEN I"LL LAY OUT THE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE MODEM AND THE ANTENNA (R3600.00) AND PAY THE SUBSTANTIAL MONTHLY PREMIUM OF R599.00 FOR 3Geg, PRACTICALLY THE MOST EXPENSIVE INTERNET TIME IN THE WORLD" Oh and lets not forget the deposit as well, what a bloody cheek.
After not many weeks, the connection speed dwindled and dwindled until it was slower than the telkom connection that I had on a land line. Now as South Africans, we all know that if you really want to insult yourself, one of the prime ways available is to do something worse than telkom.
I heard many different excuses during the hours I spent on the phone to iburst ranging from bad coverage and signal to oh, mind you it was always first my systems fault every time but then when my newly introduced iburst family member learnt that I was pretty clued up on these computers, networks & systems, they turned to the next set of excuses. I wonder how many non clued up people were "bull shatten" with this. Eventually after months two independent fellows were sent out at different times, to confirm that there was no problem on my side and my signal was always fine, but I already new this because the iburst terminal indicated this all the time....but then again the connection icon says 1 Mbp per second, always, and all us ripped off consumers and the iburst family know that we seldom, if ever, actually see that speed. 

Incidentally, at some stage I started logging my calls, I now have 4 pages of mostly 1 line entries.
These entries outline the numerous issues I've had including hours of down time, no browsing, smtp issues and the list is almost infinite, for many others to, http://www.hellopeter.com/
In fact just type in iburst anywhere on the web and note how the complaints stream in.

A fellow called Sean promised me a free months subscription right in the beginning, and yes as all you readers suspected, despite several requests, emails to the CEO which he never answered, I still haven't seen my free months subscription.......maybe I missed it???

Back to the first point:

I want my free months subscription as promised.
2 . I want my debit order done on the 30 th of the month as per the contract I have, NOT the 25 th or earlier.
3 .I want the proper antenna connection which was not supplied for my modem, not the home made metal thing supplied.
4. I want the setup CD never supplied.
5. I want compensation for all the down time I've had.
6. I want compensation for all the time I've waisted trying to get anything out of iburst.
7. I want to be compensated for the pathetic speeds I get. According to iburst's advertising and the original agreement I made, it would be close to 1 Mbps.
8. I want a reply from Tchami Mpshali the CEO who I have emailed several times. The civilised way in civilised societies is to reply when addressed with a serious concern.
9. After being put on hold for ten minutes or so I eventually spoke to Shireen Powell a couple of weeks ago, who has not got back to me. I want to know why!
10. I want an itemised summary of the bandwidth I have allegedly used.
11. I want a copy of the part of my contract where I initialled accepting that the bandwidth that I had legally purchased can be stolen back by iburst if not used within a certain time period. This one will be difficult, firstly due to the fine print being so small that it is illegible and secondly I would never accept something I have paid to much for, be stolen away from me, only if this is the case of course.
12. I want a copy of the part of the contract I signed saying I'd share the bandwidth speed with other users, degrading my speed, and yet still pay the same.
13. I want to be show where in iburst's advertising or where on it's home page it clearly states that users will share data pipe lines and not get the alleged speeds advertised unless they are the only one on-line.
15. I want to see where on ibursts advertising it clearly states that a consumer will more than likely be ripped off paying for an antenna that suddenly becomes necessary.
16. I want to know from the politicians included on this address list how this government can allow monopolies in the rip-off Internet and communications industry in South Africa to sell packages to consumers and then make them forfeit what they haven't used within a month or any other given time period. This is almost more disgusting than some of the serious human rights issues we have in this country. Blatant theft that the government allows.

Actually, first prise would be that iburst reimburses me the full amount for the modem, the antenna, the free months subscription, my deposit and the balance of my paid for bandwidth that I haven't used, after giving me the itemised billing.

By the way, how much bandwidth does iburst's "speedometer look alike control panel" consume while it is on? In other words, if a consumer took that R49.00 a month package, and didn't download anything, but just left that control panel connected, how long would the 40 meg they were allocated last?

Incidentally, I have written this email on behalf of millions of ripped-off consumers in South Africa, who don't have any other choice due to collusion, monopolisation and the lack of fair consumer enterprise control.

How to Create a Manifestation Poster

One of the most potent tools at your disposal when working with the Law of Attraction is a poster with your desires that you can hang on your wall. The reason for this is easy - any subconscious reminder of your goal that you will see day after day will further enforce your intent to the universe. So exactly what is a manifestation poster and how do you make one?

The easiest way to go about this is to buy yourself a nice large piece of poster board of whatever size you want to use. I prefer to use colored poster board, rather than basic white, but that's up to you. Now gather together some old magazines or newspapers you have lying around and begin to look for pictures. You want pictures that depict what it is that you wish to attract. For instance, if you want a red convertible, find a picture of exactly the model you desire and cut it out. Make sure your pictures are as close to exact as you can get, as this will really affect the outcome. Magazines, newspapers, and your own real photos are all great sources for pictures and ideas.

Once you have collected all of the pictures you want to use, paste them to the poster board. You may wish to write under each one your actual intention, so if you want a new house and you paste a picture of a new house that you want, write "My New House" underneath the picture in a nice black marker. How you put them together is up to you - straight? Angled? Collage-style? It doesn't make any difference, just so long as your goals are represented in the pictures on your poster. You may find that you need more than one poster to hold all of the things you want to manifest!

Once your poster is complete, mount it in a place where you will see it frequently. Perhaps on a cubicle wall, in a hallway, on the back of your bathroom door - anywhere you will see the picture daily. When you think about it, stop and examine your poster and think about your goals, while feeling charged about what you have coming your way. However, even if you forget and never look at the poster again, as you pass it each day, it will register subconsciously. The subconscious is more powerful than the conscious - manifestation happens easiest when the subconscious is on board rather than fighting. A poster is an excellent way of bypassing your subconscious resistance.

Most of all, when you look at your poster you should feel happy. You should feel expectant about the things that you are bringing into. This is probably the most important part of your poster - if it stirs up excitement in you, it will help you to manifest your goals very quickly. When combining this practice with a daily routine of visualizing yourself with your desires, you may find that you are manifesting far more quickly than you even thought possible!

Contrary to popular belief, Financial Freedom isn't a complicated subject to figure out. It's quite simple actually. So if it's simple, why aren't more and more people financially free? Great Question!

Financial Freedom is not at all complicated you don't need to be extra smart, or extra tall, or extra talented to get there. All you need to do is learn the simple but effective & powerful knowledge that is necessary to move you towards and keep you moving towards your goal of Financial Freedom.

People concentrate more and more on "getting another degree" or "getting a second job" so that they can increase their income. They tend to think that the more complex you are and the more information you have, the more money you'll make.

It's actually quite the opposite. The more complex you make things, the less of a chance you'll have to be financially free. All it requires is to know certain key pieces of knowledge, and apply that knowledge in your life. If you don't get it right the first try, do it again and again until you do.

Now, there are 6 Different Principles that will put you on the right path:

1. Know specifically what you want. The more specific your goals are, the easier it will be for you to visualize them and focus on them.

2. The Right Mindset. If you want to grow your income, you have to grow yourself and your mind so that you can handle the extra money!

3. Find the Right Vehicle. If your goal is to be financially independent in less than five years, you will have to find the vehicle that will enable you to do that.

4. Equip Yourself With the Tools & Skills Necessary. If you want to fix a car, you will first need to learn the process and then get equipped with the proper tools necessary to do so. Fixing your financial situation follows the same guidelines.

5. Apply what you've learned. Just knowing what to do isn't enough. You must take action and apply everything that you've learned to get to your desired goal.

6. Consistency. You have to be willing to take the appropriate actions for every day of every week of every month of every year for however many years it takes to get to your desired goal.

If you apply these principles in your life, and be consistent with them, you will notice a change that will surpass even your own expectations.

Polokwane - It's the greatest fear of every law-abiding citizen: you land in a police cell without good reason and you're raped.

That is exactly what happened to a young father from Polokwane - just weeks before his wedding.

On Saturday, March 1, Nico Bouwer, 25, was wed while heavily medicated - antidepressants because of severe trauma and antiretrovirals to prevent HIV/Aids.

Four detainees repeatedly raped Bouwer in one night.

The police did nothing to prevent it from happening.

He had been arrested earlier in the day at an accident and thrown in a cell.

Bouwer said he had not been allowed to make the phone call to which he was entitled by law.

Asked four times for phone call

A broken Bouwer spoke openly to Rapport about his nightmare experience that began when he was arrested on January 6 because a police officer thought he had been driving recklessly.

At the police station, Bouwer said he had asked four times to phone his family, but this had been denied him each time.

In the dirty cell where he was kept with 25 other inmates, his arms were held and his head was pressed into a pillow so that his screams could not be heard.

Apparently, Bouwer wept aloud from shock and despair.

In the course of the night, he was repeatedly raped by four inmates.

He said the police did not once come to see what was happening in the cells.

Later, Bouwer lost consciousness.

When he woke up early the next morning, one of the men crawled to him and whispered with a smile: "After last night, you are truly one of us."

The man walked off when a police officer walked past the cell.

Bouwer was released on bail hours later after his family eventually had managed to trace him.

Devastated him emotionally

He fell to pieces and his family rushed him to hospital where tests were done.

Police took his clothing to get DNA evidence of the rapists.

Bouwer will get his final HIV/Aids tests this week and he is extremely worried about them.

The night from hell devastated him emotionally and he has nightmares and flashbacks.

"I still frequently wake up in the morning and smell the stinking cell in which I was raped."

Bouwer and his bride, Rose-Mary, 24, must receive intensive therapy according to doctors - if Bouwer can find the money.

His wife lost her job and he does not have medical aid.

His son, Jevani, 5 - who understands that his father was locked up by the cops - developed an intense fear of police officers.

Bouwer has identified the four rapists already and they have appeared in court on charges of rape.

He also wants to start a civil action against the police.

Inspector Lesiba Ramosheba of Polokwane police spoke to Rapport and confirmed the rape claims.

He denied Bouwer had not been allowed to make a phone call.

He also denied that police had neglected to regularly check what was happening in the cells where Bouwer had been locked up.

Complaints of rape during detainment were rare, said Professor Peter Jordi, a lawyer at the Wits law clinic.

Locked in cell with four youths

But, when it does happen, the police can be held responsible.

Jordi said police were supposed to inspect the cells frequently.

In 2003, a 15-year-old girl was raped by older men in the cells in Amsterdam, Mpumalanga.

In 2006, a young woman was raped in the Thembalethu police station outside George after she had been locked up in a cell with four youths.

In July 2007, Peter Wheeler, 55, of Middelburg was beaten and kicked to death by fellow inmates in the police cells in Grabouw after he had been arrested for drunkenness.
